Hi friends,
Tomorrow is June. JUNE.
I meditated to the most incredible bird song this morning - it’s taken a pandemic for me to even notice that birds exist in the mornings.
INSANE.
Adding singing birds to the list of demands I have on the next country lucky enough to have me.
I’m also hoping for a kinder, slower way of life when the world comes out of lockdown.
1. We need to talk about capitalism
Eyeing up this book from The School of Life.
‘Capitalism is the most skilled machine we have ever constructed for satiating human needs. Yet, despite its evident successes, consumer capitalism cannot realistically be credited with having fulfilled a mission of accurately satiating our needs, because of one evident failing: we aren’t happy.’
2. I love you Ricky Gervais
Binge-watching the second series of After Life on Netflix because it is just beautiful.
Love him or hate him, Ricky is a genius.
3. Listening to
This great song I heard in an online yoga class last week.
4. Zen
This made my japanophile heart skip a beat.
5. Pretending I’m in Italy
Gorgia Eugenia Goggi, the head chef at Masseria Moroseta in Puglia has been uploading the most delicious sounding recipes thanks to the quarantine in Italy.
I stayed here for a yoga retreat a few years ago and can say that she cooks like a gd dream! One of my favourite places to stay Italy.
happy as an Italian clam post cooking class in the MM kitchen:
