63. Breathe Then, As If Breathing For The First Time
A big WELCOME all new subscribers, it’s so good to have to here. If you’ve found your way over by some miracle (someone forwarding this to you!) but are not yet subscribed, here, let me help you with that:
It’s Sunday friends,
A small moment of gratitude for my favourite yoga teacher, Steve, who made my heart explode with joy when he asked two people to remove their mobile phones from our studio during a practise this week.
Your phone doesn’t need yoga, your addiction does. Namasté!
Here’s five interesting and/or meaningful things I found this week.
1. A Thought
And how are you growing in this moment?
2. Dolce Far Niente
I lost a few hours this week deep-diving into the work of my new favourite photographer — Letizia Cigliutti.
(Also adding a beach house in Puglia to my growing list of homes I’d love to renovate.)
3. A Poem
AS IF BREATHING FOR THE FIRST TIME — David Whyte
//
Breathe then, as if breathing for the first time
as if remembering with what difficulty
you came into the world, what strength it took
to turn that first impossible in-breath,
into a cry to be heard by the world.
Your essence has always been that first vulnerability
of being found, of being heard and of being seen.
and from the very beginning,
the one who has always needed,
and being given, so much invisible help.
This is how you were when you first came
into the world, this is how you are now,
all unawares, in your new body and your new life,
this is the raw vulnerability of your
every day, and this is how you will want to be,
and be remembered, when you leave the world.

5. Some Good Advice
How to thrive when everything feels terrible.
TL;DR:
Avoid negativity
Watch out for what you say out loud
Adopt a neutral mindset
Practise gratitude consistently
Take care by managing your energy
Seek out positive relationships - inside & outside of work
See you next Sunday.
