115. Stay, I Said To My Loves ❤️🔥
Friends!
It’s the weekend.
Here’s three things you may find interesting and/or meaningful.
1. Creators Creating 🦹
I found them in a teeny coffee shop in Porto, Portugal recently.
Here they hang:
I loved them so much I googled the actual shop & walked 37 mins to find her.
Here she is, on the other side of Porto:
And here’s one of the two that made it home with me:
2. A Poem 🔄
The Promise — Jane Hirshfield
Stay, I said
to the cut flowers.
They bowed
their heads lower.
Stay, I said to the spider,
who fled.
Stay, leaf.
It reddened,
embarrassed for me and itself.
Stay, I said to my body.
It sat as a dog does,
obedient for a moment,
soon starting to tremble.
Stay, to the earth
of riverine valley meadows,
of fossiled escarpments,
of limestone and sandstone.
It looked back
with a changing expression, in silence.
Stay, I said to my loves.
Each answered,
Always.
3. Reading 🌞
Devoured this book in a day.
‘Fertile Void’ is now my new favourite phrase and I’ll be adding her to at least 4 sentences a day from now on.
See you next Sunday.
