105. A Loved One Waiting At The Airport ✈️
Friends,
Howzit to the weekend!
Here’s three things you may find interesting and/or meaningful.
1. And breathe 🧘🏼♀️
Looking forward to practising yoga here in Berlin in May — Original Feelings Studio.
2. ❤️
Good things — via Melanie Richards
Tiny sprouts, grown from seed.
Bookstore cats.
Petrechor.
Heavy snow on the mountains.
Lovely scents from an indoor citrus tree in bloom.
Porch hammocks.
Bringing someone a surprise treat from the store.
Holiday markets and mulled wine.
The first sign of shorter nights.
“Screw it, I’ll just walk”.
Girl Scout cookie season.
Nice clean sheets.
Surprise ladybugs.
A long walk on a summer evening.
An object made with love.
A giant tub of homemade Chex Mix.
Swimming in a crisp lake.
Old book smell.
New book smell.
A candle on a long winter night.
A lazy afternoon in a friend’s sun-drenched backyard.
The scent of chimney smoke in crisp winter air.
A sunny brunch.
A breeze blowing in from the sea.
A clean home after returning from travel.
Heavy cherry blossoms.
Walking past a rosemary bush, touching a sprig, and smelling your fingers.
Family game nights.
Spotting an unexpected animal.
Meditating with friends in a temple in Kyoto.
That fall chimney smell.
Catching the bus or train just in time.
The first foggy fall day.
The lacy bits on the edge of a fried egg.
All dogs.
People watching from a little cafe.
Catching sight of a smoll bird at someone’s feeder.
An intense aroma of pine.
Being awake while the whole world is asleep.
Front-yard gardens.
A loved one waiting at the airport.
The beach at night.
Fancy butter.
Ferns.
Earthworms after a rain.
Ripe, in-season fruit.
Lightning bugs.
Rain on the roof.
A good kitchen knife.
Cooking—providing sustenance for the body of someone you love.
A soft night rain.
Inquisitive birds on the window sill.
Thunderstorms while tucked into bed.
Tidepool critters.
Turtles drifting around in a pond.
The first sunny weekend after a long winter.
The neighborhood bursting with blossoms in spring.
Golden hour light.
That all the animals in the sea are still in there doing their thing, all the time.
3. A Poem ✍🏼
Remember — Joy Harjo
Remember the sky that you were born under,
know each of the star's stories.
Remember the moon, know who she is.
Remember the sun's birth at dawn, that is the
strongest point of time. Remember sundown
and the giving away to night.
Remember your birth, how your mother struggled
to give you form and breath. You are evidence of
her life, and her mother's, and hers.
Remember your father. He is your life, also.
Remember the earth whose skin you are:
red earth, black earth, yellow earth, white earth
brown earth, we are earth.
Remember the plants, trees, animal life who all have their
tribes, their families, their histories, too. Talk to them,
listen to them. They are alive poems.
Remember the wind. Remember her voice. She knows the
origin of this universe.
Remember you are all people and all people
are you.
Remember you are this universe and this
universe is you.
Remember all is in motion, is growing, is you.
Remember language comes from this.
Remember the dance language is, that life is.
Remember.
See you next Sunday.
